9 Kings is out now on PC. It left behind the usual pre-release limbo quickly: the game was announced in April 2025, dated two weeks later, and went on sale in paid Early Access on May 23, 2025. Everything below is dated from official Sad Socket announcements, and the one thing missing is the big one: the 1.0 release date.

Two things are worth noting about this timeline. First, it is clean: the Early Access date was announced and hit, and the mobile date has been confirmed on both the App Store and Google Play. There is no delay story to untangle. Second, the updates list is long: Sad Socket has posted dozens of announcements since launch, adding kings, modes, the multiplayer system and a complete rework of five decks. See our pages on the nine kings and the difficulty ladder for what those updates changed.

What about the 1.0 release date?

Not announced. The most recent patch announcement, for version 0.9.5 in July 2026, says only that "the 1.0 update is on the way", with no date attached. Sad Socket also promised in its launch Q&A that the base price will not rise for 1.0. When a date is published, this page gets the new fact-check stamp and the table above grows a row.

⚠️ Unconfirmed. Third-party stores and lists sometimes attach an estimated window to the 1.0 release. No official source has given one, and we do not repeat estimates as facts.

Where can you play it today?

Today, the game is a PC title. You can buy it on four stores or play it through PC Game Pass, and a free demo is still live. The platforms page has the store links, system requirements and the Steam Deck status. If you want the short version: there is nothing to play on consoles, and the mobile version lands on October 8, 2026.
